Von-Mises stress.

The videos below show the results of the MbDFEM simulation. The joint force and torque vectors are included for clarity.

Note that, unlike the pendulum stress distribution in the Compound Pendulum example, here the distribution of stress in the pendulum is asymmetric. This is a direct consequence of the dominance of the torque-induced stresses over the force-induced stresses. Note also that, since the torque is constant in the reference frame of the pendulum, the stress distribution is also constant throughout the oscillation.
